🆕 New features in WebShop

More out-of-the-box standard features

As a SaaS product, we’re constantly working on improving our feature sets and to making them immediately accessible to you when they are released. We’re delighted to share that you can now automatically use these features out-of-the-box. As an existing customer, you have access to this list of existing features now.

Here’s a list of features that we’re delighted to share are now automatically on for you to use right now:

  • Account dashboard icons - add icons to your dashboard menu items or change the order in which the options on the left had menu in WebShop are displayed.

  • Using vouchers and coupons in WebShop - configure gift vouchers or include discount-based coupons on some or all of your product catalogue.

  • Information automatically displayed in email order confirmations now includes

    • the customer name as the email subject,

    • a customer reference and phone number at the top of the email body,

    • the company billing name, company name and account code and product image(s) of ordered product(s) included in the email body

  • Contact name in unapproved orders listing in WebShop - control how and when orders are placed into your ERP using our Approving Orders feature. By default, the contact name on each order waiting to be approved is now displayed on the Unapproved Orders screen in WebShop.

  • Enhanced dashboard search - for customers who have integrated WebShop with Intact iQ (using REST web services), SAP Business One and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, there are additional search criteria available on the Order History and Finance screens in the WebShop dashboard.

Improvements to SEO with updated category URL formats

We’ve updated our category URL formats so that they align with recent changes made by Google to their SEO / search standards and best practices.

Briefly, each category that you have in your catalogue has two URLs - a ‘friendly’ URL, and a system-generated URL. The ‘friendly’ URL is one which can be read easily by your customers, while the system-generated URL is designed to be used by search engines to locate unique categories and product pages. Read How are URLs set up in WebShop? for more information.

Recent changes in Google meant that there was an increase of duplicated content, which was affecting some WebShop rankings in search engines. We have updated our platform so that Google must use the unique system-generated URL to locate and identify your categories.

Use our newly created product report to help you identify non-unique or duplicated URLs in your category tree.

This downloads a spreadsheet with the following data:

  • Type - either Category URL or a CMS page URL

  • ID - category or CMS page ID

  • Name - name of the category or page

  • URL - lists the ‘friendly’ URL you have configured. This cell is blank if a ‘friendly’ URL has not yet been configured.
