What happens to a product in my customer's Cart if its status has changed before the order is placed?
Purpose
To explain what happens to any product in my customer’s Cart whose status has changed before the order is placed.
More information
Customers can create their order over time by placing products they wish to purchase in their Cart. These products remain in the customer's Cart until either the customer places the order or removes the product from the Cart. Occasionally, the product's status may change while it is in a customer's Cart. Perhaps the product becomes unavailable, perhaps you've set its status to Invisible, or perhaps its price has changed.
WebShop respects the contents of your customer's Cart for three hours. If your customer checkouts out after this time has lapsed, their Cart is re-checked and the customer is informed of any updates. Otherwise, the order is placed.
Update your product catalogue at an appropriate time when your customers are least likely to be affected by product changes.
